电力发电行业主要是汽轮机油（又名透平油），是以减压馏分润滑油为原料，经深度精制，加入抗氧、防锈等添加剂调配制成。主要用于蒸汽涡轮机、水涡轮机及气轮发电机的润滑。
汽轮机油的质量要求：
1.优良的氧化安定性，以保证油的长期循环使用氧化沉淀物少，酸值增幅小，寿命达10年以上。
2.优良的抗乳化性，容易与水分离，使漏进润滑系统的水在油箱中迅速分离排出，以保证油品的正常润滑和冷却作用。
3.良好的粘温性，以保证汽轮机组的轴承在不同温度下都能得到良好的润滑。
4.良好的防锈性，以防止蒸汽和冷凝水渗入系统引起调速系统片的锈蚀。
5.良好的抗泡沫性，运行中进入空气而产生泡沫，泡沫过多或不易消失会影响油品的正常循环。
电力输电行业主要用油是变压器油。变压器油的质量要求：
1.优良的电气绝缘性能，绝缘强度高，介质损失角小。
2.粘度小，散热快，冷却性能好，能将变压器在运行中产生的热传导出去。
3.良好的氧化安定性，使用寿命长。
4.凝点低，有好的低温流动性。
5.闪点高，蒸发性小，保证在运行中的温度下能安全工作。变压器油是减压轻质润滑油馏分，经深度精制，加入抗氧剂等调配而制成。
