1、釜用机械密封适用温度是指密封腔内介质温度，当釜内介质温度高于机封的适用温度时，应采取措施增设辅助装置——循环保护系统、平衡罐、调温器等对机封进行润滑、冷却。
2、辅助装置选用原则：
（1）单端面机械密封，可根据釜内介质温度选用辅助装置的原则见表1。

（2）双端面机械密封原则上都应配上辅助装置,以保证密封液的压力始终保持高于釜内的工作压力0.05~0.10MPa范围内。可根据釜内工作压力及介质温度选用辅助装置的原则见表2。

（3）冷却水出口温度应≤60℃。
